As the time needed to complete the assignments decreses mood increases
In addition we are also seeing how with less exhaustion ,more activity and more sleep; mood is increasing
The purpose of this project is to check the relationship between the time needed for assignments and my mood
I have significantly been able to prove my hypothesis. It also enables me to assess my overall mood
This project also helps me understand that there are several factors affecting my overall mood which have been exploited here.
This is a Bubble plot.
The X axis shows the time needed to complete assignments and Y axis shows the mood.
Here we do see with decrease in time taken to complete assignment mood is more.
And with higher mood the exhaustion is less.
Here the color defines the various exhaustions levels which have been explained in the key.
Here the radius defines the number of activities done. We can see with less time needed the number of activities done is more.
The rectacles depicts whether time was left to pursue other activities for pleasure. We can see the data points which have the rectangles are ones with less time needed to complete the assignments they also have
higher mood.
Another factor that effects my mood is sleep quality. The arcs define the mood quality.Fuller arcs are present in the ones with higher mood.
The hypothesis is as time taken for assigments decreses mood increases which is quite clearly proved here.
This plot shows my data adequately and succintly. Each portion of the data is quite clear and the hypothesis is beautifully potrayed in the plot.
Here it is possible to show many facets of the data collected. This plot shows that there's a lot of factors that affect my mood at once.
It is possible to study all those factors together.
The sources have mainly been the class materials.
I have used the website Coolors to determine the color palette.
I have looked up all the class slides and previous term projects put in the canvas as examples to carry out my graph.
I realized there are more then 3 factors affecting my data so I needed to add more features.
After plotting X and Y axis for mood, I used my exhaustion scale for the colors. As exhaustion level directly affected my mood.
Next I realized the number of activities I could do in a day heavily affected my mood. I used that to determine the radius.
The moment I did that there was a clear pattern showing more larger circle data showing color for "less exhaustion" when mood was higher.
Another factor that I wanted to see was whether the time left (after doing assigments) for activities affected my mood.
This is depicted by putting boxes inside the circles that has time left for activity(see key)
It did show that with time being left mood was higher but this factor wasn't definitive to the hypothesis.
The last factor I checked was sleep qaulity ,this too effected my mood. With better sleep mood is more.
This can be seen through arcs drawn around the circle. In the Key the meaning of the arcs are decribed.
My first thought while deciding my visuliazation was my data
Data representation narrowed my decision to select Bubble plot or Scatter plot. The data I have have ,has multiple factors determining the output which was possible only in scatter plot.
In this plot my mood, exhaustion level, number of activities, time left after assingment and sleep quality can be determined.
We can easily see how the mood increases with less time subsequently my exhaustion level also increases i.e. I am more energetic with less time needed for assignments, which makes me happier i.e. higher mood.
Sleep quality also has an effect on mood .
Representing multiple factors effecting my mood was the only reason why this plot type is the best for my Data Visualization.
